View Full Version : Clicking sound from engine
My fiance has a GZ250 and its made a constant clicking sound while running for 3-4 months now. It was low on oil about 3-4 months ago, so I wonder if that's the cause of the issue. If so, any idea on what might have been damaged, and what possibilities there are to fix it? I do all the maintenance on my ninja, but am certainly not a professional mechanic and have never done intense engine work.

If you can adjust the valves on a ninja, you can certainly do it on a Gz.
Does it sound like valve knock/tapping? That's my guess.

Yeah, that's what I'm working on today - for whatever reason I always tend to overthink the simple things :) I don't however have the suzuki tool for valve adjustment, so am gonna try to just use needle nose pliers to turn the adjuster.

If I can do it so can you. Never worked on any engines before my gz. I searched for ever for a decent price on the "special tool" did it without, no problem. Just take your time. Make sure you are at Top dead center on the right stroke though.

The head of a Robinson screw or a Schrader valve will fit perfectly.
 :)
