Good pics. Don't be shy, post as many as you want as we all need a little mental release this time of year.

Alrighty then...my camera died during a nasty storm in TX and the rest of the photos are on my phone (but haven't taken them off yet). So here are a few more. I don't mind re-living this either.

Nice pics. That must have been some trip. Love the landscape and the red color of your bike. Soon the snow will melt here in Indiana and we can ride everyday again. So far only 2 short rides in this year. Can you say... "Get your motor running"????? AAAHHHHH. GZBrian

Charlie Kelly: You know what? Let me kick down a little thing to you that our Founding Fathers kicked down to me. It goes, "Don't. Tread. On me," and right now, you guys are TREADING ALL OVER ME
LOL I've been lurking, and I just joined and that title caught my eye and my first post had to be a reply to this. Anyways nice pics man. I like to see stories and pictures of people taking these crazy trips on 250s, goes to show just cause it's a 250 doesn't mean you can't make it work, sure a bigger bike with more weight and power is going to be better for it, but sometimes you don't have the luxury of having that option. I hope to take a trip like this one day.

I am impressed with how much stuff you were able to carry on that bike. Congrats!

I ended up traveling 9,500 miles on this trip over a 2-month period. The left exhaust valve dropped on me with less than 50 miles to go (back to my home). But thankfully, I had friends in the area and was able to pick the bike up the following day. Since then I found a used engine with only 2,000 miles on it and she is back up and running. I preferred to buy a new engine because just replacing the cylinder head left the transmission in question still (didn't know if I had done any damage to it) and it was roughly the same price.
Honestly, if I were to do another motorcycle trip I would do it again with the 250. I paid ~$300 total for gas, was forced to travel slow and really absorb every area I traveled through including the amazing roads that can be found all across 'Merica! My only qualm is that I wasn't able to do off-roading (although I tried), maybe a KLR 650 would be a bit more ideal for something of this nature.
