I see the silver bike has an oil cooler. It would therefore appear that it's doable on the geezer (as folks have asked before)

But .......... is it necessary (genuine question) or just a gimmick? Or has someone found a way of souping up the engine on this particular bike to make it necessary? :)

What's fuel cost in Indonesia? (note: most of us on here are lazy-assed [and metric-challenged] Americans, so please convert liters to gallons and currency to US dollars!)

Happy riding!

yes it is very helpful installing the full system cooler since the engine is sooo damn hot especially after i bore up to OS 200. before i make the cooler, the heat from engine is extremely high usually when i stuck on a traffic jam and the bike often shutdown from overheating. now after i install it, looks like the heat partially transferred to that cooler.

the silver likes to drink Shell here in Indonesia, approximately it takes around 10 liter/week (1 liter = 0.26 gallon). so 2.64 gallons would cost around $8.7 (1 liter = Rp 7850 = $0.87)

and average fuel consumption for the silver takes 1 liter for 25 km or 0.26 gallon for 15 miles.

Didn't quite understand the bore out statement. Are you saying you bored out the cylinder ?? How much did you go ? Did you need a new piston ? Any other changes to the engine ? And last but not least..........did you get a good return of power for your efforts ?

yes i bore up the cylinder to OS200 or put in a 74mm piston. but i didnt just go with the OEM cylinder, i replace it with cylinder from diesel engine. why i choose diesel instead of bore from current OEM cylinder? because diesel cylinder is much tolerant to extreme heat and it is more thicker so i can bore it again up to OS400 while if i use OEM standard, the cylinder will very thinner and can crack the engine.

for piston, i use from gasoline engine with the diameter i want with the same pin diameter (18mm). since here we dont have privileged for large diameter motorcycle piston, we use piston from car like camry, mercedes benz, daihatsu zebra. sure with some adjustment. and that's about it, no more changes. up till now, i've used the bore up engine for about a year and truly no problem at all.

the effect on my bike? yes it accelerate much faster, more power torque, but of course the top speed still the same with standard. if i want to exceed it, i have to change the stroke, but i will not do that as there will be lots adjustment and can shorten engine life.

Wow, sounds like you did your homework before starting the bigger bore mod. Very impressive.

well learn from friends' experience where most engine blown out or crankcase cracked using OEM cylinder. thank man! :rawk:

I posted about an engine cooler idea here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3943 (http://www.gz250bike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3943)

And ahve this link to a picture of one that would look to work http://img525.imageshack.us/i/enoilcooler.jpg/ but yours looks like a cleaner set-up.

Like I said any pics and info you got on that cooler would be super great! and got any pics and number specs about your big boring?

1400ml stamped on the GZ? I've double checked my European version, & it definitely says 1300ml. (yes, I know it's 1300ml, & 1400ml with filter change) But why are the American & European stampings different? I'd like to know what's stamped on other folks' Geezers. :??:

Edit:- or am I getting confused, & 1400ml is stamped on the foreign bike only?

Blaine of sorry man we had a missunderstanding. Ya I know the pic I found was not a GZ I just think sending the cooled oil threw the filter and throught the motor then back into a hot 'old pan" (I know its the bottom of the motor and not a pan) would give me better cooling so thats why I posted that pic cuz its the only one I ofund that we could easly convert for our bikes. Although if this guys cooler mod is working tried tested and true then hey Ill go with whats been done and what works!
