Hello all,

I am a 65 year old retired Okie that has always had a love for motorcycles. My first bike was a Harley 165 when I was 14 years old. I have since owned several bikes, including a Honda 90cc street bike a fellow gave me with the engine and transmission in a bushel basket. It took me three trys to get all the spacers right, but rode the bike for two years. I have raced bikes and ridden bikes for many years, but took a short 35 year intermission due to my career and am now the owner of a 2001 Suzuki GZ250. I have been married for 45 years and have two sons, one grandson two years old, and a very lazy cat. I reside in a very small town in Northwest Oklahoma, population 403.

Cheers to all,

Chaindrive

Welcome. You will enjoy the G.Z. for it's ease of maintenance, and it's reliability. There is a lot of good information in the different sections of this forum. You can also download the service manual if you wish.Any questions just ask.

Welcome Chaindrive. Another old rider here. My SO had a GZ and enjoyed riding it till she moved up to a larger bike. You will find the GZ to be a fun way to get about.

Welcome.

Do you have a gas station in town? I go through a lot of small towns in my travels and I've noticed that the consolidation of the "filling station" bidness (and I guess every other kind of business) has led to the closure of many a small town's service stations. I always wonder how much gas the locals have to waste - driving to and from the closest gas station!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bike. I personally think the 2001 GZ is the vintage year for GZ's.... of course, I could be just a weeeeee bit biased!

Ride safe and enjoy your bike. I have sure loved mine in the short 6 months that I have had it.
