Leaving town for a week or more. Will be driving rather than riding. The Rocky Mtns are no place for a bike this time of year.

I can't speak for the Rocky's, but it was down into the upper 30's in parts of the N.E. Georgia mountains at night, a few weeks ago. So my guess would be that the Rocky's are even cooler than that.

So it's another day and I still have some energy left to mess with. My little road trip in the Ranger was a success and just plain sweet. Drove from Squamish to Edmonton Alberta and back. Stayed with a past co-worker and had diner with a couple others while in town.
Should have ridden but was a little leery of the weather this time of the year while being in the mountains. Humbug...........sunshine and nice riding temps all the way. Beautiful Fall colors and not much traffic this time of year.

More pics from Edmonton. I wanted a few shots of a Fleet aircraft that a friend owned for many years. It was older than he was and he flew it over 440,000 miles before his death. The little yellow 2 seater was his passion in life and his travelling machine all over North America.Sert 2010 018.JPG[/attachment:fcqdfply]Sert 2010 023.JPG[/attachment:fcqdfply]Sert 2010 024.JPG[/attachment:fcqdfply]Sert 2010 025.JPG[/attachment:fcqdfply]

More pics from the Air Museum. Hope you like them. Except for my friends small aircraft most of these aircraft have been restored with loving care by volunteers. Some are privately owned and on loan from their owners.

This is a beautiful little plane from WWI.

It took very courageous men to fly in a wooden aircraft such as this one.

We live in a truly beautiful world and a road trip is good for the Soul.

I was a little envious of the rider. That could have been me coming down the road on 2 wheels.

Wow WW, what great photos. The outdoor scenery up there is so beautiful it is hard to believe it is real. Loved the airplane shots to, thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks, WW. I had no idea there was such a museum up there in Edmonton. I'll have to get up there one day to see it. Those first couple of pictures remind of the Yellowhead Hwy up near Jasper. Is that it?
I'd love to do a road trip like that one day on the bike.

Give the man a cigar. Yes it was just East of Jasper where I took the first pics. I too am still wondering about the pics as they do look very unreal. I did ride through there in 2006 but it was not a pleasant trip. Cold and wet and me without the proper gear. That was my first long distance ride and one heck of a reality check while travelling on 2 wheels. The right gear makes any ride much much better as I have found.
