Hey all,
My bike has a salvage title because the lights had been removed. I have since had them replaced and have my appointment for the salvage inspection on the 31st of August. It has to be done but an Ohio State Trooper Salvage inpection station and there are only like 10 in the whole state. I am a little sad I have to wait that long, but anywho has anyone ever had to go through the inspection? I am just wondering what to expect, I am not really worried about it. I was just curious. Also gotta say I love this site everyone is so helpful! :rawk:

sounds a lot like the Road Worthy Certificate that you need here down under to get your bike rego'ed. If its even close to the same thing, all they'll do is make sure the lights work, indicators flash correctly, horn works, that there isn't any structural issues and that it doesn't exceed the allowable noise levels (down here the GZ isn't even close). So if its the same sorta thing, no biggie.

Ten stations in one state, wow, Georgia only has three that I know of. My son in law had to take two bikes over 100 miles each way to get them inspected after buying two salvage titled bikes. The first one they went over pretty well before certifying it, the second one they never even asked him to get out of the back of the pick up truck and never started it or even tried out the lights, they just wanted their hundred dollars. Good luck.

They can't really require anything more than a safety inspection does. Because you can not be required to exceed what your state says you must have, to be on the road. That didn't quite come out the way I wanted, but you get the idea. It seems to me you should be able to get an inspection sticker at the same time if you have your insurance, but that would be too easy.
