I know the GZ is a little small for carrying passengers and i'm not allowed by my license or insurance to carry one but i'd figure i'd ask anyway if there's any helpful tips for riding with a passenger - might come in handy in emergencies or something.

Yes. Try it before you NEED it. Having an extra ~100 lbs on the back makes for an entirely different feel. If you can't get a human volunteer, load up a suitcase and strap it on. In addition to handling differently, the braking takes more effort too.

With a live passenger, tell them to lean exactly the way YOU do; no more, no less.......and keep their feet ON the pegs; don't try to help hold the bike up when stopped !!!

Truth is that it is best NOT to take on a live passenger if there is any other choice; a minor inconvenience might turn into major problem.

And adjust the rear tire pressure too. 5psi more 2 up than just 1 for the back. Front stays the same.

Also, the rear shocks may need to be adjusted to a higher number, depending on the added weight.

Easy's idea of a heavy suitcase is a good one. Do not pack loosely, make sure everything fits snug. Tie down the case and have no loose ends blowing in the wind or rear wheel.

Just remove the passenger seat and no one can talk you into a ride. No seat no ride. That was one of the things Lynda wanted removed to avoid any issues with grand daughters.

What's the big deal with passengers? O.k., it's a different style of riding than solo, & I admit that I like riding solo better, but my missus always comes with me, on the back, rather than use the car (& she's 70 years old). And as for granddaughters - isn't that what grannies (& grandpas) are for? To spoil them rotten & cater to their every whim ( :roll: ) Anyway, I like the company. :2tup:

Alantf, I should have pointed out that this was when Lynda first started riding and didn't need the added complications of passengers. Oddly enough none of the girls were interested so it worked out nicely.
