Just because I know how much some of you guys like to feel smarter than others, I'll share this...

Just checked my tire pressure and it was 16 psi front and 26 psi rear. Yeah, yeah, I know... check everything before you leave the house. Well, I've ridden for about a month without checking my tire pressure, so I thought I should. Glad I did, and now it's right! :hide:

I would keep a close eye on that front tire, as you may or may not have a slow leak.16 Psi seems awful low, unless it was not checked for a long time. :smallrawk:

That first like sounded like a diss to me. :skull: I'll put my 2 cents worth in here either way, some of the folks around here ARE smarter on bikes than say me or newbies because theyve been riding for years and years or decades, Its called experience try it sometime, and I for one am glad those are around to teach us rookies the ropes and save us from screwing something up.

A lot of us old guys got hands on experience by not listening to our elders who had been there done that. Learn from our mistakes cause you will never live long enough to make them all yourself. And as an old guy I find it refreshing to hear new riders come up with solutions to problems I have never encountered yet. That makes us all part of the same team.

tire pressure never goes down so low in a month in any season. you did not check for a very very long time or a leak somewhere. at 16psi you must feel the tire wobble under you. not only for bikes, always pay attention to strange, new sounds and vibrations.

What is the proper PSI for front/rear tires? 25/29? I just checked mine and they're at 10/18....

Yes, 25/29 is correct,I found better handling with both tires inflated to 30 P.S.I.You will find a big difference in the handling with the tires inflated properly.Pressures that low is dangerous.Tire pressure should be checked weekly.

Dangerously low.

There should be a sticker on the swing arm or chain guard with the pressure recommendations on it.

I rode on mine for too long without checking and now I feel about $350 less smart.

Tell yourself to smarten up. You could get hurt and we wouldn't have you around to pick on.

thats another thing, low tire (air) pressure is not only dangerous, tire wear is more and its expensive both ways.

I'm blessed with both stupidity and laziness but every once in a while I manage to rise above at least one of them. Btw it's a huge pain in the ass to check the pressure on my back tire and even huger to put air in it.

this reminds me I need to check my tires in the morning.
