Hello and welcome aboard. Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm sure some one else does and will chime in.
Congrats on the GZ. What year and how many miles?

A little late in coming, but welcome to the forum! It sounds like you definitely got what you asked for. Should be fun though, as these bikes are fairly easy to work on, and nothing is too extremely heavy or difficult to get to.
I am sure you will enjoy riding your GZ. Lord knows, I love mine. Happy riding, and be safe :2tup:

hey guys does anyone know how to adjust the fuel flow on the gz carb ?
The only things you can adjust are idle speed/mixture. Check that the petcock hasn't been left in "prime". The long side (with the arrow) should be pointing forward. If this doesn't do the trick, let us know, so that someone with more experience of carbs than me can come in. :2tup:

Hello and welcome aboard. We changed our stock GZ mirrors, cause they just did not seem to go out or high enough for me. I actually took the ones off my old Kawasaki Eliminator and put them on the GZ. They were 10mm I believe. They are also metal and go up and out far enough to see very easy what is behind you. Hope you enjoy your GZ. GZBrian

Let's start over.
Are you getting a LOUD bang from the exhaust......or just a little popping on deceleration ??
A little popping is most often caused by an exhaust leak or vacume leak at the carb.
And just exactly what is leaking and how much ??.....and when, running or not running ??
Does your bike have any modifications to the exhaust or intake ??
You can't "adjust the fuel flow" but if something is not right, you can fix it.
Tell us more.

i get a little pop on deceleration and it looks like fuel is possibly leaking from the bowl . i used to have a sport bike and hated it and i always had fuel leakage problems . and i also have a slight hesitation when accelerating . my bike is a 1999 and the jerk i bought it from said he did a full rebuild on the carb and a bunch of other stuff . i think he just doctored up the bike to sell it . i love the bike and it looks good and all in all runs well . i just dont want to get stuck with it i have a habit of breaking down with bikes . it kinda sux !!!!!!!dont want it to happen with this one .

On the "Index page", near the bottom, there's a grouping called "Forum Arena". In that there's a sub group called "Problem with forum". You might want to check that out for starters.
I just looked at it (for the first time), and it answered questions I hadn't even thought to ask :)

Let's start simple. Is your petcock in the proper position,It should be in "run" or "res" position. If It is In the "prime" position(pointing down) It will leak & flood. :2tup:

I'm really surprised by that. As a complete computer dum-dum, the only problems I had were uploading photos & getting quotes onto my reply post. I found that by asking "specific" questions on how to use these bits, that other people on the site could give me "specific" answers. I couldn't have done it without their help. :2tup:

Either fuel is leaking or it isn't. What indication are you seeing that leads you to a "possible" conclusion ?? Any chance that your previous bike is making you paranoid in that respect ??
Even if there is a leak, it's probably a different problem than your other complaints.
Those sound like a lean condition or an exhaust leak.
Things to check:
Stock air filter is in place and in good condition (no holes).
Air box around filter has no holes.....including the plug on the drain hose being in place.
Rubber boots on both sides of carb are tight and not cracked.
Exhaust pipes are not leaking where they connect to the engine.....and that the stock muffler is in place and not "damaged".
(If it appears that the pipes are loose, be VERY careful trying to tighten them; broken studs are common for an amateur mechanic and are expensive to fix.)
AND if all of that stuff is OK, run some Berrymans B12 Chemtool through with a tankful of gas.
If the PO was a putz, you might need shop help.

There is help and the tutorial but most just wing it.
Thinking about what you want to do and paying attention to what is on the screen is usually helpful !!
It would be easier to answer specific questions but you can't be too bad off if you have managed to start a thread and make a follow up post. Discussions of bike trouble would be more apporpriate in a different sub-forum but that's a minor thing.

thanks guys for all the help and support . and i think you may be right . i think my past experience is just making me paranoid . i looked everything over today and found a leak in the gasket going into the head and the carb float bowl was leaking . bought new parts and its all good . i took it out for a nice long ride and all is well . had a great time. the bike was used in a driving school so it has never even seen a highway or probably hasent even been out of third gear its a 1999 and has 1000 miles on it . did a full tune up and it runs like a top . i had it up to just about 80 mph . thats perfect . no tickets and besides the roads in brooklyn are crap so where the heck am i goin . have a nice day guys and be safe .

That is probably is not a leak. They come from the factory with it on them. It's really had to get cleaned off.More than a few people on here have made the same mistake.
