Welcome to the forum, your bike looks very nice. I haven't named my last couple of bikes, but when I was a kid I had a Honda Trail 70 that was about the same color of blue your bike is and we all called it Ralph. I don't remember why, but even my parents referred to the motorcycle by the name Ralph. I can remember coming in for dinner at night and my mom would ask me "did you remember to put Ralph in the garage"? Anyway, as far as I know, Ralph has been dead for many years now, so the names available if you want to use it.

Not sure why, maybe it was the tendency for eighties nerds to name their computers, often after Tolkien or Trek characters, but I've generally resisted giving anthropomorphic names to inanimate objects. Sort of like naming your toaster.
On the other hand, non-model or brand names crop up for me all the time, such as: "The Butterfly Car" (my POS Toyota adorned by daughter #1 with butterfly decals), "The Bus" (Suburban) and "The Beast" (my early name for my Strat, since abandoned as it is more like a kitty now.) In the early eighties I had a Plymouth Fury III I referred to as The BattleCruiser (it was the size of a star freighter and got escape velocity-like mileage.) And I think everybody at some point in their life has owned a Shitwagon.

and "The Beast" (my early name for my Strat, since abandoned as it is more like a kitty now.).
Thats funny, me and now my wife have had cars called "the beast", I had a 91 Mazda Navajo (ford explorer with a mazda name plate) 4x4 that drank gas when you just talked about driving it, or looked at it, and it was big, so we called it the beast, (the 4 dollar plus gas prices finally slayed that "Beast") now my wife has a 03 Ford explorer sport that doesn't drink quite as much gas but it is pretty big, so it is "the beast 2", she even got one of those monster stickers that looks like claw marks to put on the back to make it official.
And yes Alanc I have had more than my fair share of "shitwagons" :puke:

Do you have a direct link to the product? When I search Suzuki GZ250 (2007) it doesn't come up in the listings.

These mini boards have a standard male end on them. The mounting holes on the G.Z. need to be made a little bigger for them to fit.

Are motorcycle acc. prices and medical equip. tied together? Seems like everything for a bike is upwards of 100.00$. I've needed mirror extensions since I bought the bike, but I have'nt gone to see how much 2 chrome sticks threaded at each end cost.
I'd like the floor boards, but I just can't see paying that much when the pegs are doing just fine. Want vs. need are always at war.

I made new longer mirror rods from a 3/16" (?) galv. steel rod and covered it with chrome tape (my local Home Depot had no aluminum rod). I had to buy the 10mm (?) die.
Cost $12 for the rod and chrome tape. I extended mine 2". I no longer block my own view.
Cheap, easy, and effective.
:)
Previous post:
I bought a similar diameter galvanized rod and a metric die (to cut threads) and made mirror rods that are 2" longer than stock. Slide the rubbers away from the ends of the stock mirrors & you'll see how easy the stock ones are to replace. The stock mirror is ample sized & a good shape. They just need to move out. See photo below
Oh yeah, the rod & die set me back $12

Good idea Sarris. How is the chrome tape holding up?
Do you remember what pitch the thread is?

Do you remember what pitch the thread is?
If it's Suzuki, it's metric. That's all you need to know. Any given metric size has a standard pitch.

Beg to differ. there are different pitch angles on metric threads.

Must be some weird American thing. Buy metric in England/Europe & it's standard. :??:
It's the same as if you buy BSF, BA, AF, etc. The name of the thread gives you the pitch.(i.e. threads per inch/threads per mm) It's a constant. The only difference is that when you buy BSF, AF, etc, you specify the diameter in fractions of an inch. When you buy metric, you specify the diameter in millimeters.

Just going off of experience working on metric trucks. Every time we lost/broke a metric bolt we would have to have size and thread pitch. And it usually took us a half a day to find the pitch guage.

That's like our standard threads nc,nf npt. Guess we just could'nt adopt the metric ways.

Bring the old rod with you to buy the die. The chrome tape is auto trim tape and it holds up fine.
