Nice. I wanted to go without the rear seat as well, but when I removed it I found a nasty blemish in the fender underneath. Bummer.

The blemesh under your seat is likley from a poorly installed set of saddle bags by a previous owner.

How bad is the blemish, because if it is not super deep, you can use this stuff on it http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G17216

I used it on the gas tank of the bike I have now, it had swirl marks on it so bad that it looked like someone polished it with 1000 grit sandpaper or something, and now it is almost completely slick looking again. :2tup:

No previous owner; the bike is brand new. As for fixing it, it needs to be both ground down and filled-- nasty. I'll look into that stuff, thanks.

Brand new? DON'T TOUCH IT! Take it back to the dealer, to get it fixed under warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im with 'ALANTF' should be fixed under warranty. If gouged deeply fender should be replaced as any filler put in a plastic fender will 'show thru in a short time.

I like the chrome door edging....looks good. By the background it looks like the Babylon area?

what is the technique to using that stuff, i have heard you have to be extremely carefull with buffing and rubbing compounds so you don't end up taking off the paint. i have some light swirl marks on my tank i would love to get rid of.

Danny, I have seen a specific swirl remover wax at an auto parts. Old timers set in, can't think of where but it is out there just keep an eye out.

http://s1.postimage.org/DHz7i.jpg (http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=gxDHz7i) Did you used to live on Long Island?

For 58 years I did. I worked for LILCo, Keyspan and National Grid. Retired in 2007 and moved to SC in 2009.

Can you tell me where you get the chrome edge trimming on the faenders and tank??? Not sure if it comes that way from Suzuki or you got it somewhere else. It really makes the fenders stand out from the rest of the bike. I have a black one and would like to see if I could get the same chrome trim you have. Nice picture of your motorcylce, looks great.. Thank you. GZ Brian

I got the chrome edging at my local Advance Auto store. Cost was $12.99 for 18'. So far I have the back and rear fenders done. I will be doing the tank tomorrow. We also have some nice tank decals coming, and are looking into side panel decals. I have pics of the bike before, and will take some after and get them posted when I am done. So far my wife and I are really liking our GZ 250. Thanks for all the info. GZ Brian
