It has 2 brackets that attach to the fender support. Comes with the hardware.

I like this rack , but need a sissy bar 1st, to keep my wifes butt from sliding off the back!

I've got a SHAD luggage box on my rack, & my wife prefers it to a back rest (cissy bar) :2tup:

Would the rear rack be heavy enough to mount and support a small [28L] Givi top case? CMS

No, I don't think so. I wouldn't put more than 5-7 lbs. on it.
