You've heard the old adage scarce as hens teeth? Used GeeZer dress up parts are scarcer than the FILLINGS in hens teeth.
But I guess you never know!
LOL

Nearly as scarce as rocking horse shit.
Come on, I am a poor working girl! I can't afford the retail prices Suzuki wants for a little thing like a sissy bar. There must be a used one out there somewhere!

Sure there is a used one out there. Probably being used right now. Have you tried Ebay ?

I'm looking for the same part, and the only ones I can find on eBay cost as much as a new one.

It is the same one featured on Babbits. Actually got it from there.
So, you will just see the same part in different views.

Have you sold it yet?

$75 for something that retails for $250 to $300? And is brand new never used?
While I am not expecting to make money on it, I will not just give it away.

I am not here to haggle. You know what it is worth. $75 is an insult.
Post it in the parts for sale section with a price.
I don't know what it is worth to you.

Waya, you might want to check out Oneidasuzuki.com...............closed for the next 3 days for inventory but. They have a OEM sissy bar and rack for 263 bucks.
Was doing some surfing for a GZ 250 sissy bar and that is what popped up.

You specifically asked for someone to make an offer, so how is his offer an insult exactly? You didn't even give us a general idea of what kind of money you would want for it, and then asked for someone to make an offer on it, then you got someone to make you an offer, and now you are insulted? Doesn't really make any sense to me.
I am with JWR on this one, you know how much the sissy bar is worth to YOU, and you said you don't want to haggle so put a firm price on it and either someone will buy it or they won't, that will solve everyones problem.

I finally took some pics of it.
Yes - this is an OEM Suzuki sissy bar made for the GZ250, complete with the hardware and instructions. (as I have stated before)
These now retail between $263 and over $300.
I will part with this one for no less than $200 plus shipping costs. (UPS from 40356 zip code)
So, I will entertain all offers for $200 or more until 04/20/11. Then, the highest bidder and first with the funds (if tied) gets it.
Thank you.

Fwiw I paid 75 for mine, I think. Bought it off a guy on here. The retail price is a little crazy but then, so are most mc accessory prices.

Just for reference, the one he posted pictures of is OEM and not M/C.

I'm having a senior moment here. What do you mean by M/C ??

The "MC Enterprises" after-market brand. They offer a Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack for the GZ250. The construction is different. They make the Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack as separate components:
http://www.amazon.com/MC-Enterprises-Si ... B001J8MJZQ (http://www.amazon.com/MC-Enterprises-Sissy-Bar-291-25/dp/B001J8MJZQ)
http://www.xtremebargains.net/index.php ... s_id=14024 (http://www.xtremebargains.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=14024)
I haven't found anything that tells me the load limits between the two.. so have no idea as to which may be better.

Those fender mounted rear racks usually have a recommended weight limit of 7 lbs.
The integrated one piece sissybar rack should be able to carry a bit more.

mc = motor cycle. The one I bought was a genuine Suzuki. I'll do a search to see if I can find what I paid.

Waya, if it was me I would go with the OEM rack/backrest combo rather than the 2 pieces from MC and save some bucks while getting a better load limit too. Oneida Suzuki, part # 99000-93031-100.

Babitts listing with price: http://cart.babbittsonline.com/pages/ca ... -rack.aspx (http://cart.babbittsonline.com/pages/catalogs/detail/35/2792/5130/15543/1/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/sissy-bar-with-rack.aspx)
Oneida listing with price: http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/parts ... gz250.html (http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/parts-accessories/sissy-bar-wrack-gz250.html)
Oneida will also charge a minimum $21.96 for shipping. Not sure about Babitts. I was figuring between $10 & $15 as a guess for shipping from me to you. Again that is a guess.
So . . . either way, the one I have for sale is still priced lower for the same exact item.
If you can find a better price for a brand new one (still in the plastic it came in as mine is) or a very good used one, then by all means buy it. :2tup:
If I could afford $200 out of my budget, I probably would get it, but, alas, such is not the case.

Yes, but if someone wanted to fit a box like yours & mine, with a front hinge lid, it wouldn't open. With a two piece, like I've got, the backrest can be removed, & the lid opens o.k. :) I can still fit two helmets or a week's groceries in the box, with no problems, so weight doesn't appear to be a problem with the two piece. :)

Waya, if you are patient and check Ebay and craig's regularly, you should be able to do better. The guy I bought mine off of (for $75) didn't have a lot of offers at $150. Timing is on bruce's side at the moment - it's motorcycle season - but things tend to slow way down come October.

I actually had the factory sissy bar and cut the "sissy" part off because it interfered with all storage options.
I hacked it, added a rear trunk and couldn't have been happier.
People knock the off-brand stuff all the time but trust me. The knock-off stuff can hold just as much weight as the factory stuff, for all intents and purposes.

You are absolutely correct. Never even thought of that optional way to go. Good catch.
