I just purchased a cheapo battery off ebay but it is not working very well.
Therefore, I wanted to ask where everyone got their batteries/what was the price?

What do you mean by "it's not working very well?' Does it start the bike once or twice then it's dead? If it's an AGM battery like most of these are, it has to be fully charged up first before putting it into first use, otherwise it craps out and will never hold a charge. Bring it back, (Oh I forgot, you bought it online), get it load tested after you charge it. If it's no good you should be able to send it back, they should give you a replacement. If they won't take it back, maybe you're screwed, you could cancel the charge card and have a fight with them. And regardless of what the salesman tells you, charge up any new one first before you use it and it should last many years.Yausa batteries are very good and can be bought online at good prices, any battery should work, just charge it first rather than using it off the shelf after it's filled with acid.

mine is Yuasa and it is good so far. You can buy from walmart, the dealer or a good online store. price varies with the brand. There are certain things like engine parts, tires, battery, service where you should not compromise (too much) for quality/price. At least I don't do. This keeps you trouble free.
if the battery was real cheap it might be a BAD battery not holding the charge at all. get it tested from advance auto parts or auto zone. if its bad fight is yours.

What is the model number of the battery that Walmart sells? Or will they figure it out if I tell them it's for a GZ250?

Before I retired, I was working as an electrician in England, & we always used Yuasa batteries in the electronic panels (that's all our store would carry) and we never had any trouble with them. :2tup:
