Well the subject of this post pretty much covers a big chunk of the relationship for joining, the only part it doesn't cover can be guessed. That's right you guessed it my first motorcycle is a 2001 Suzuki GZ250  I have actually just bought it this evening though I had to have my brother in law drive it home since the state of good old sunny Florida requires me to take the MSC prior to obtaining the proper endorsements. But I look forward to learning all I can from you fellow motorcycle enthusiasts! I'll post some pictures here within the next few days in the proper topics for motorcycle and mug shot.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find lots of good information here. I think you will find the Motorcycle course to be worthwhile and a lot of experienced riders even go back and take classes after years of riding because they say it helps remind them of things they had forgotten about when they do. Good luck and enjoy your GZ!

Welcome, fellow newbie! You made a great choice with the GZ, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Yes I am looking forward to the many 'baby steps" of learning to ride along with the care and effort one puts into their machines, I've always been a fan of doing my own repairs on my cars so I figure why stop there now I have the bike. If anything it will be an interesting journey!

Welcome to our humble abode.......a usually happy playground with all sorts of "kids". :)

The first "baby step" which is often overlooked, is learning (or brushing up on) your BICYCLE riding skills. That's one thing you can do while waiting for the course.

Have fun. Scout out a nice empty parking lot for the first round of practicing. Get some riding boots, jacket, gloves and a helmet if you don't have them already. Good luck with the MSC.

Well little update, I'll be taking the MSC in a little less then two weeks when work will permit me the required time off. As for the safety gear I will be purchasing all of that next week. This site has already been a major help especially with the available shop service manual for download! Always good to have one for a vehicle. Thanks all and look forward for future discussions.

Well folks it's time for an overdue update, as stated prior I had to wait for my MSF class but since then I have taken the class passed all the tests and am now street legal. Took my official first ride yesterday and first ride in a slight shower this morning on my way to work. Gotta say I'm loving the experience of freedom of 2 wheels. Look forward to taking my first trip ride. If anyone has any good trips for the Florida I would appreciate the heads up for future trips. Located out in St Lucie county FL

ride safe folks :rawk: :2tup:

Congrats Red. Being legal and qualified is the way to go. Trip tips: pick a direction and enjoy the ride. Look forward to detours and consider a missed turn an adventure into the unknown.

A little ride around the Lake should be nice.

The GZ will do about 200 miles before reserve.

Have fun...
