View Full Version : 1999 GZ 250
I bought this bike off ebay in 2002 with 34 miles on it. Supposedly it was purchsed for the wife to ride along with her husband, but as things go she became pregnant and the bike sat in the garage for the first year when the second pregnancy happend. So two years + and only 34 miles, ebay $1675. It now has only just over 2000 miles on it. I use it for local neighborhood riding and four years of airshow escourt (Sun-N-Fun airside ground safety) 260 miles last week in 1st and 2nd gear. This is a fun bike, easy to ride, low noise, looks like an MC should. --Dan--

Very good deal indeed!! Welcome
Update; Now at 3309 miles, half of which were in 1st and second gear (airshow) I am putting on new tires. Old tires - front wore to tread replacement level and had checked sides, rear had 1/2 tread left, but was hard and with checked sides, both were 1999 originals. Oversize for Bike, but front replacement is Dunlop (same brand and style as the originals, but larger) D404 130/90-16, Rear is D404 140/90-15. Had to move the front fender up 3/4" to fit front tire. Will post (new topic) details after a few more test rides. --Dan--

Fresh rubber is always good. With a little luck the larger front tire will make the speedo more accurate. You might want to check it with a GPS just for fun and ticket avoidance.

My '07 only has half of that, & I ride it EVERY day. Wish we had your wide open spaces. I can get anywhere on the island in 70 miles. :poorbaby:

I think there is a better chance of an under water tunnel.

Geez Dan,
You are a man of few posts! Can you (or anyone) explain to me the relationship between 1st and 2nd gear and an airshow?

Apparently, he's escorting something at low speed, at the airshow.

Until you said that, I didn't notice the time gap in between his only two posts on here, at this pace, the next time we hear from him his GZ will be eligible for Antique tags

I have a discription of the air show plane escorting in of all places "larger front tire" thread in the "how to" section. --Dan--

Dan does not post a lot. Man of few words. Unlike some people.
Posted a new picture of 3 GZ250's in the pictures forum. I bought the 2002 in 2010 ($1200, 3200 miles), but my brother had to have one, so he now has it. The 2007 I bought in 2011 had 1800 miles on it, bags and wind sheild ($1800). Those bags and windsheild are now on the 2002 and the blue 2007 has a rear bracket/seatrest. --Dan--
