Fork oil change

OK, I looked thru the maint. posts and could'nt find where anyone has changed their own fork oil. Looked at the manual and all I saw was seal replacement. Has anyone done it? And how hard is it. Special tools?

It's usually just a drain plug/bolt in the bottom & pop the top caps and refill. Check the service manual.

It's normally a 50,000 mile or a never deal, so unless you have a specific problem, I wouldn't screw with it.

when i read the service manual it looked like you had to take a bunch of crap apart in side the forks. the top thing is a dust cover and the seal is down inside there with a bunch of other parts. i took the forks off the bike and drove them to the shop when min were leaking. about 40 bucks a fork including the price of the parts at the place i went. not a bad deal and probably saved me a lot of hassle or not.. but it looked like it did form what i saw in the service manual...
