Anybody got an idea what the strap on the seat is supposed to be used for? For a passenger to hold? ( Don't think so) To secure bungee cords, if so there really isn't a place to secure the other ends of the bungee. I just can't find a functional reason for that seat strap, what am I missing? :??: It must have a function!?

To the best of my knowledge the strap is there for the passenger to hang on to. They are easily removed for a cleaner appearance.

That's exactly what it's there for. It also holds the bill of a hat pretty well.

It's a passenger grab-on strap.

Just seems too tight of an area to sit on a very limited area and have room to hold on. It makes sense that was the engineers thoughts, but in reality how many passengers use the strap? I would bet zero to none. Just my opinion, I much prefer a small rail on the back of the seat, but that is not an option on this bike.
:??: Very non functional to me.

If there was a solid grab rail in back of the front (driver's) seat that the passenger could hang on to, that would be nice. It's much more difficult holding on to a bar behind the passenger seat, to keep from pitching backward and maintain balance. That strap is put there as a cheap compromise, it serves the purpose, and when not in use it's out of the way. If you don't want to use it, the passenger hangs on to the driver. A sissy bar/backrest is even better, for the passenger to get jammed in against the back support.

My daughter uses it when I take her out on the bike.
