Suggestions on saddle bags

please check this link and give comments, the price is very cheap for so many things so i am also reluctunt to buy. mainly interested in saddle bags. first concern is if buffalo leather good for bags to hold some wear and tear and weight. i never used saddle bags so now idea.

and i am also attaching a picture of another kind of bags that have zipper on lids. is this style better than just having flaps. i was thinking the zipper would prevent dust and air going inside (more protection).

All suggestions are welcome as i am going to buy something soon for GZ.

If you want something that lasts, go with one of the better brands. I just bought some Nelson-Rigg bags and am very impressed with their quality.

I hate to say this but ......visit your dealer and hold a few up to the bike and see how they look. The ones you referenced in your message look rather BIG; that's OK if you want big but if you just want to carry a rain suit and a few bunje cords, it might be overkill.

If you can, do business with your dealer......so they will still be there when you really need them. If not, make note of the brand and model and go shopping on the net. I would never buy bags sight unseen.

P.S. You WILL need the bag supports to keep them out away from the wheel.

Ditto on the saddlebag supports. Some one here did some penny tech supports and they would probably work well. Check out Nelson-Rigg bags at New Enough Leathers. Lynda bought a 3 piece set-up for her M 50 and they are very well made and designed to be really easy to live with and use.

I know the saddle bag questions have probably been beat to death, but do you know which specific Nelson-Rigg models of saddle bags fit the GZ250?

I'm an architectural technologist and visit construction sites lots. I need to be able to store an 8 1/2 x 11 padfolio, tape measure, digital camera, and other stuff and a hard hat (which i assume I can just strap to the seat.)

I need to carry tools etc., so I've found that a top box (rigid) is best, & just use the saddlebags for bungees, rainsuit etc.
