I'm over on the east coast, near Melbourne (60 miles due east of Rat World on US 192). Lemme see what my schedule looks like, and if can head out that way.

I heard Busyweb was planning a ride out there....That would NOT be a surprise. I envy the time he has available to get some really great rides in. The fact that he's in California, with some of the best riding spots in the country is another bonus, too. Florida is soo exciting, :) Ride down A1A nowadays and the view is condo, condo, glimpse of ocean, condo, condo, walgreens, glimpse of ocean.

LOL! So true!

Don't forget though, there are lots of gorgeous areas to ride too. I'm going on a ride tomorrow that passes under spanish moss covered oak tree canopies, past beautiful lakes and generally through some small towns and beautiful FL greenery. Where I live there are tons of large horse farms with small winding back roads. I haven't gotten to ride a lot of them, but I've driven past them dreaming about being on my bike  . I'm also a couple of miles from Rainbow Springs, and Homosassa Springs. Crystal clear rivers that are 72 degrees year round with Manatees and ... gators set in gorgeous nature parks. I'm not sure what areas there are like that close to Orlando/Kissimmee, but Weeki Wachee Springs (in Spring Hill, FL) is about 60 miles away and famous for its mermaid shows. Homosassa Springs (Homosassa, FL) is about 85 miles away. Silver Springs (Silver Springs, FL) is also about 85 miles away, and it's famous for it's glass bottom boat tours.

If you plan to make your way to the FL west coast PM me & I'll give my phone #. Wiki Wachee Springs (mermaids, hokey) is north of me and fairly close. Tampa??

Let me know where your planning to go.

Have to agree with Adrian. That's where I learned about wind push. condo, condo, wind gust...condo, Walgreens, wind gust (whoaaa). Getting better at "weathering" it, no pun intended.

The last week and a half has been unreal. 15-20 mph sustained winds, changing direction from day to day, but not really ever letting up. Makes the 192 bridge reeeeal fun everyday.
