It's so nice that I won't have to say that to any of you! My name is Laura and I purchased my 2007 GZ250 in Pensacola, FL in April 2008. Since that date, and as of today (06 March 2009) I have put just a tad over 7000 (yes, thousand) miles on my bike. I put 3k on by the time I took the motorcycle safety course in August 2008. I was one of the last riders in Florida to be issued a learner's permit before the law changed in July 2008. All the DMVs were completely booked for the rider exams, so I had to go to the class. Since then, I have ridden in sweltering heat, stinging rain, tropical storm gusts, and freezing cold and all on Interstate 10. Yes, I seasoned myself quickly out of necessity. I overcame a huge fear of motorcycles so I'm very proud of how far I've come! I'm glad I found this forum because I know I have SO MUCH to learn about my bike and riding and I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome.

The lady I bought my GZ from listed it on Craigslist as "2003 Suzuki 250cc Motorcycle - NOT A SCOOTER!"

lol It's comforting to know I'm not the only one that has to say that!

Welcome, Willowolf. 7,000 miles in less than a year is outstanding! That's great!

Welcome Laura. Sounds like you aren't giving the bike any time to cool off.

Yes, I have lots to learn as well. Starting with... is there a good mechanic in the tallahassee area that I can trust with my 600 mile service. I understand that is an important servicing interval and do not want to let it slide. Any suggestions are appreciated.
