I need to unload all of my GZ250 folder that I have here on the computer at work.

the folder contains:

Custom photos of the GZs from around the world.
Photos of aftermarket parts that fit the GZ.
The GZ250 service manual.
& Just about every image posted by the members here on www.gz250bike.com (http://www.gz250bike.com) as of early 2008.
+ some personal GZ250 photos of part installations and removals.

This would make a great addition to someone's library and I spent so much time compliing things together that I can't justify just deleting everything.

The total file size is only around 178MB. It's not huge but has a lot of information.

Let me know if you can host it for the website or if you just want it for your own personal well-being.

Can you email it to anyone that wants it?

Theres a bunch of free file hosts around ... pick one and give the guys a link.

Rapidshare
MediaFire
MegaUpload

etc etc ....

can always split it in two zips since most only allow up to 100mb.

I can d/l it then as well and host it if need be.

To answer Mrlmd1:
Sure. If anyone wants it, I'll give it up.

Dupo,
I'd prefer to just give it to one of you Administrators so that you can use it, or not, as some sort of data base for the site.
(I was under the impression that a site searchable photo gallery was in the works)

I just tried Rapidshare, as they allow for 200MB uploads, but I can't figure out how to actually upload my files. The only options seems to be one by one. Certainly that's not right.

Here's the URL.

How do we access the files? Do we need to register for the site? Jonathan's link is there but nothing opens up.

Yeah, that's what I mean.
I can't figure out how to upload the files. I made the share link, but I'm still working on it.

Well hurry up. Otherwise you could just email it out.

jonathan180iq
02-04-2009, 04:29 PM
I'll send it to you if you like. I'd also like to at least get it fixed up with a file host so that everyone who is interested could access it.

If you want to try and email it to me, you could send it to mrl.md@comcast.net. and thank you. I'd like to see it and have it, and I appreciate all the work you've done in collecting that info. :2tup: :2tup: :rawk:

Make sure you have a very high speed Internet connection and there are no mailbox size restrictions on either end. A 178MB file is often not mailable. There are free upload/download sites that you can use to get around e-mail restrictions.

Sometimes, even if it is mailable, it takes so long to send (like over an hour) that you can't tell if it is going or not. Comcast is cable and I understand their speeds can be pretty fast.

Just zip all the files into one archive and upload that to rapidshare. Select files. Right click . "Add to pics.rar or pics.zip" etc....might work...

I just learned from another thread on here about Google Docs and I then posted a Powerpoint show under the thread "How cold is it".
You can upload that whole file to there after registering for free and post the link to us on here. It's quick and easy, even I could do it altho I did have to search through the Help section to figure out how everyone could gain access to it.
You can either send the whole file to someone by email through there or PUBLISH it (under SHARE) and then you get a URL to send out for the link to what you put up on that site. Go to Google Docs (http://docs.google.com), register if you don't already have a gmail account, upload the GZ files and send us the link here.
Or you could try and send it to my email and if my Comcast email will accept such a large file, I could post the link to Google.

Hi, there.
I found this, File Splitter.
What it does, splits big files to small chunks of files, and merge them to back original file.
http://www.filesplitter.org/

I think that you can Zip first as one file, then splits into multiple files.

Just my 2 cents,,,, :)

Alright guys,

I decided on Mediafire. The site is much more user friendly for the average computer user and I found it much easier to organize my files in.

Follow this link: mediafire.com/gz250bikepics

I am still working on populating the Member Pics folder with all of the files that I have in my database. Keep checking back for updates.

OK. what am I doing wrong? I registered on the site to create an account, logged in, I can see your link but I can't access your files. If I click on the link, nothing happens, and I mean nothing at all. Under photos and under files, it says that nothing is found.
Did you upload anything yet?

Copy and paste this link:

I just check out the public/shared view of the page and everything seems to work.

http://www.mediafire.com/gz250bikepics

Also, if you follow the link, you shouldn't have to create an account or anything. It's a free viewing URL. I hate those sites that make you register just to look around.

I just checked it again even after logging out or my admin account. It works just fine.

Now it works, you have 4 sets of folders, all pictures, right? Maybe when I tried yesterday too soon after you uploaded those, the site wasn't ready yet. (?)
That's a lot of stuff you collected and collated off here.

It's all complete yet. I still have some stuff from the Spanish website members and then some personal folders to add pus the service manual.

The uploading is complete. If you are a longtime member and don't your name in the member pics folder it's probably because I only had one photo in your file or I missed your photo posts altogether.

I hope someone enjoys this stuff.

Take care,
Jonathan

Holy Crap!

The photo page doesn't work anymore. Did anyone, just by chance, happen to back these up?
I don't have any of the original photo files anymore. I hate to think that they are lost forever.

Even when I log in on the site it says that I have no more files. I don't know what happened.

mrlmd1

Could that happen from disuse? If no one logged on in 6 months would they shut it down?
You might try to contact the site to see if they archived it anywhere. :??:

Since you were the last one on there, you must have screwed it up. :poke2: :poke2:
Thanks a lot. You got rid of the GZ, now you got rid of all our stuff. :poorbaby:

I thought that it might have been shut down from disuse but I think surely I would have received an email or something from their administratos, no?

We'll see. I'll let you know. You were the only one who ever expressed any interest in it anyway. :)
