In his video of the biker wave, he's passing cars in what looks like a bike lane on the right shoulder. Is that what they do in Taiwan? Might wind up in the grass if you're not careful and quick.

Yes, Taiwan has very different motorcycle laws than here. It's much easier to get anywhere on two wheels than four, which means there's a LOT many more motorcycles and scooters over there. If you notice, they have big boxes at every intersection in front of the cars, meaning bikes get to "filter" ahead and get first crack at the intersection.

That's cool. A different mentality and the price of gas probably has something to do with it. That would never happen here, people in cars for the most part have no respect or cares about motorcycles on the road.
