Greetings! My name is Voltaire and I am a new rider at the age of 32. I graduated from the MSF Course recently, got my M1 endorsement, all necessary gear and a used '99 GZ250 in red...

So far, in all the two days of being a new rider, I've only put in about 6 miles around my neighborhood, practicing.

Thanks for reading! Be safe.

I like the red, and there is nothing wrong with practicing as much as humanly possible before you get out on the open road. :chop:

Indeed, it's probably the smartest thing you can do actually.

Welcome.

My first day was just short of 9 miles, so you're in good company. There's a lot of seasoned riders on here, but quite a few of us are still in our first 5K of riding. Probably because of the bike size.

Work your way up and focus on turning the pointers in the class into ingrained habits. Glad you got yourself some protective clothing - it will give you a little more confidence, and, if you eff up, you'll be glad you were wearing it.

At about 200 miles or so, it gets a lot more fun.

Love the red bikes (mine is a rear black one ),, note i am 63 and only been riding for 3 years ..i loved the MSF course .. AND you have a great bike to learn on (and hopefully keep)... your gonna want a bigger bike eventually ... so its just a hint here to keep the GZ. I wished i had kept my first one and regret to this day selling it ... I am going to get a S50 Suzi.. bit i will hold on to this GZ..

Enjoy the ride

welcome!

I'm about 400 miles into my journey and I am 5000% more comfortable now than I was a month ago.

Still very careful. But a lot more comfortable.

You'll get there.

Have FUN!
