I was on the way in yesterday, when I became somewhat annoyed with the pickup in front of me. The driver had slowed down to 30 (which is about 5 miles less than posted, but it's a steep downhill and everyone usually does 45+.) Being a sexist racist, I took a peak into the cab to see if a lady or (insert racist, ageist stereotype here) was driving. It was a young white male who happened to be furtively putting his seat belt on. I realized at that point he had mistaken me for a motorcycle cop. (It happens to be a stretch where these guys prey on us from time to time. Lots of stop signs and speed traps. Plus we have a new cell phone law.)
As we continued, he came to a complete stop at the lights (no California Roll!), was careful to use his blinkers and even turned his rap music down. I was laughing to myself, because I am so not a cop! I do dress all in black and look a bit like those Dirty Harry MC cops, but the guys out here use Beemers, with windshields, etc. none of which I remotely resemble.
Eventually the road widened out to two, then three lanes. I pulled up next to him in the double left turn lanes, and gave him a wave. He looked a bit startled - I think he still thought I was a cop.
Probably had sparked one up before heading into work. :bong:
