View Full Version : Do not adjust your computer monitor!! We are upgrading.
I am in the process of upgrading the forum. So if something doesnt work or seems funky .. that is what is going on.
Patrick is working the sql/database end
I am working the upgrade end as well as themes and other addons.
Patrick will also be working on some of the other 'harder' mod installs that are over my head lol.
So bear with us while this all gets done!!

Most of the maintenance and upgrading is complete. Some tweaks and stuff are needing to be done to keep the spambots and a few of the other glitch-prone things from cropping up.
Overall, everything is still here and active. As with any major upgrade/overhaul, there will probably be some stuff that will seem out of place and there will be a few nit-picky things that stick out to people.
Please post what you have problems with in this topic.
I will sticky this to the top for a few days in order to keep up with the issues.

For the most part looks good. I have had a few minor issues with the "back button" getting a "page expired" message, but that may be the way it is supposed to work.
What does the user name in "red" mean? I though it meant a new post, but now I think it means they are online...

Since the only ones I have seen are Dupo, Badbob, and Patrick I am going to assume(oh no) that the red letters are for the Admin's, when you are "online" it says it under your name.
Later ;)

No real problem so far but I do NOT like all the shades of dark blue. Reminds me of a funeral; quite depressing.
Thanks for shortening up the "name" in the URL paths. Makes navigating (back) lots easier !!

umm, could you please add some more smileys ?
I'm especially missing the 'grouphug' smiley, here :grouphug:
The theme (blue) is temporary. I added it because it was nice and clean .. i will add one or two more. If anyone likes dark themes let me know i'll throw a black one in there along with one more.
Smileys .... yea im going to see whats available and add some.
Quick reply (i loved that feature) will be added back in soon.
As well as adding the 'post a picture' link/mod. That one is mandatory going back in. I know alot of people have trouble posting pictures without it.
If you haven't noticed, you can insert flash now in your posts. I do believe that means you tube links :2tup:
And if you haven't noticed, you can upload files now in your posts. Right now the file size is small but i WILL adjust that to a larger size.
There is also a chat program that i can enable within the forum. I have to check into it some more (im not familiar with it) before i enable it.

The attachment feature will automatically thumbnail images and post them. Look in the Testing forum and you'll see an image I added.
Too late, i already added it

Before you upgraded the site, each time I logged on when the main page loaded up, the topics with new posts were highlighted a different color so you could see them immediately. Now you have to peruse through them all and look for the dates to find the most recent posts, or at least the ones for that day. Any way to bring the highlighting of new posts back, or is that something within my computer that recognized a change in the page compared to the last time it was viewed?

Sorry, would you believe just after I wrote the above post, the problem seems to have resolved. Maybe you fixed it just now or maybe my computer just realized what was going on, or whatever happened, it's fine, so thanks.

I have had that bug happen right before the upgrade. Dont know what causes it.
BUT - upper toolbar of the forum look for this:
View unanswered posts | View active topics....................View new posts | View your posts
Great quicklinks if that happens again.

I seem to have a problem posting now. Have a very limited amount of characters to use. Is this the upgrade or a problem from my end ?? Settings or something ??

See my related post under trouble with forum. System resets deleting my posts right in the middle of writing them... Rude!

Didn't know these php boards had artificial intelligence built-in. Usually takes a few more weeks until my stuff is auto-filtered out.

Very nice, gents.

I wouldn't mind a black/dark theme.

I don't see a "quick reply", and wonder what is quicker about it compared to just replying.
Anyways, I'm reporting an error under the "specs" tab of the home page, it says there that our bikes have "2" valves in their single sylinder whereas the actual number is 4.
Thank you in advance for fixing it. I also reported it at the source, motorcycle.com.

Sunday morning, 10-11 AM, CDT. Overall operation is VERY slow; posting replies is almost painful. Are you in there playing around ??

I rearranged the Birthday in the Profile control panel to lessen the confusion we've seen recently.
