I have been looking for a Backrest and luggage rack combo for my bike that is reasonably priced. I think if there is an aftermarket one available it would probably be cheaper but I have yet to find one. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one aftermarket. I order one from Babbitts Powersports for $239 and was told that it would arrive on August 22, Called yesterday and they said it was on back order and they have no idea when it would arrive, They did not bother to let me know so I canceled it. Any help will be appreciated....

Since the gas prices are so high the smaller 250cc bikes such as the GZ are really popular now. The after market products for this bike are very limited and I don't think the stocking levels were ready this new demand. Even Suzuki wasn't ready. I have had some saddle bags and brackets on back order from Suzuki now for over a month. Good luck and if you do find a good supplier please let us all know.

i wonder about the weight limits on those luggage racks? i know the bike i just got has a sissybar/luggage rack combo, and there's a sticker on the rack that says maximum weight limit is 2kg(4.4lbs). but seriously, under 5lbs? that's crazy. is that really the limit those things can handle? it seems pretty strong and it's definitely on there securly. the guy who owned the bike before me had a big trunk back on the luggage rack, and never reported any problems. i'd think the bag he had on there weighed at least 5lbs on its own, and i know he put tons of stuff in there without incident.

i think that is a safety issue more than anthing. They either put that weight limit on the rack or they take the chance of someone suing the crap out of them, which is probably why the sticker is on there to begin with. My Harley has a rack on top of the trunk with a 10lb weight limit and I can safely say that is has had a lot more than that on it.... I thin using your best judgement is always best.
