My 2003 GZ250 started to have some very hard shiftiing recently. After my poor husband adjusted and re-adjusted the clutch we were about ready to push it over a cliff. Then I found this forum and all is well again. Thanks to forum member BADBOB for his suggestion of using synthetic oil. It really did help, but there was still some trouble with hard shifts and finding nuetral. After some more research in this forum i showed my husband the post from Lindsey that said to lube the pivot shaft for the shift pedal. He laughed and said that was not the problem and that I had burned out the clutch. The local service dept also said over the phone that a new clutch was needed. I asked my husband to just try Lindseys suggestion, so he put 5 drops of oil on the shaft and like magic the problem was solved. My bike shifts fantastic and I am in love with it again. My husband is still in disbelief, but it worked!!! After the oil worked so well my husband removed the lever and cleaned the pivot and then greased it well. It works great!! He used mercruiser 2-4-c marine lube with teflon since we have a boat, but any good multi-purpose grease would be fine. Thanks again to this forum and the members who helped us to fix my bike. I will be keeping my bike and riding everyday.
