Hello everyone! I have been needing an excuse to get back on a bike, and high gas prices have finally given me a 'reason'! I had not ridden in a few years, but it all comes back fast. I picked up my '07 very lightly used last week, and have put about 300 miles on it so far. :2tup:

I am usually into bigger bikes, but I love the fuel economy of this thing! My first tank I got 67 mpg!

Anyway, it will be my daily commuter, and I am also teaching my wife how to ride it (she's doing great!).

Seems like a great forum you have here, and I hope to become a 'fixture' for a while! Here's the bike:

I hope you haven't put 300 miles on it with no mirrors. Other than that welcome to the forum, and be careful out there, and that is a very nice bike.

musicman,

hehehe...I wondered how long before someone noticed that....I wouldn't have guessed the first post...LOL

Nope, I just loosened one while I was washing it, and decided to see how it would look without them. I kinda like it (although I'm pretty sure it's illegal)....Oooo rebel without a cause...(or view behind him)... :rawk:

Thanks for the comments though!

Oh I like the way it looks like that too, I took mine off when I first got it just checking it out, but I wouldn't ride like that.

..I've seen 'em with just one mirror, but I don't know if it's legal. Probably a state-by-state thing.

...and taking the mirrors off reduces drag.

I'd have to agree, the black ones are faster! Seriously though, I'm surprised by how many compliments I get on this bike. I really figured I'd have to take loads of crap from everyone for riding a 250, but quite the reverse. Women like 'em and my Harley riding friends like it. I do have to hear some S&^$ about the little exhaust sound tho. The only people who have given me any static about my little bike are people who don't have a bike or know how to ride. If ya ask me, they don't get an opinion!.

Even for the highly rare black GZ250's, yours is quite good looking with the single seat and clean and shiney.

Happy motoring

Looks just like mine except I've got mirrors, a second seat, and no badges.

My 2002 is black. Doesnt have the Suzuki S on it. Says Suzuki in a faint blue color instead.

Welcome!

Here is my 2003 GZ Maurader 250. I purchased it in may of this year. It had about 11,000 KM on it and had sat for the better part of the last 2 years. The guy who owned it was a foreign student from Taiwan. He went home in 2005, but his sister was here going to school. She was going home and had to sell the bike. She says the she only rode it to Tim Hortons for the occasional cup of coffee! About 2 KMs round trip. One mirror was missing and the rear fender had a hole in it (someone fell on it during a party). I bought new mirrors and used fiberglass and Bondo to fix the hole. I've also added a windshield and a set of Gears Saddlebags.

I mostly use the bile for commuting, but I've gone with friends an a few longer rides. Going around the Cabot Trail in September for the Ride 4 the Cure. This is about 185 miles or 300KMs.

My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner!

You may ask yourself "How much more black could it be?"

And the answer would be, "None... None more black."

:)

Welcome!!!!!!
