Just noticed this thread...

First bike, 1965 BSA650 Lightning, in 1970 in Europe. 2 minutes instruction. And I was off!
Then, a 67 Suzuki 50cc 2stroke in 1973 in Madison WI.
Third a Honda 305 Super Hawk (1965 I think) same year. Full fairing cafe racer.
A 1950 Pan Head HD hard tail chopper for a brief time in Houston.
A sweet 1974 Moto Guzzi 850T bagger in Asheville NC for 8 years.
Then a long drought. Till now.
1999 Suzuki GZ 250. Like it tons!

I would so ride that bike today. I'd have that cafe'd out faster than you could bugger a Cheshire dwarf.

I've got it sitting in my garage. It's needs a rebuild and to have most of the parts put back together. I'll get to that after I get the Midget driveable.

PS:
Are you searching Ebay for a Cheshire Dwarf or the bike?

Hey Patrick I can't help you with a 1969 T250 Hustler, but I can help you with a 1974-75 not sure which, I think a 75 Suzuki GT250. I know a guy that has it, haven't heard it run but he says it runs and it needs some work but all the body work is in decent shape.

They are really sweet little bikes.
90mph and 32 horse power out of the box. Wheelies in almost any gear.

It probably weighs 200lbs too. Like I said, I'd lower it, install clip-ons with a bar-end mirror and get rid of the fenders in a heartbeat.

Hi Sarris,
I know this is an old thread, but remembered you had owned a Drifter 800. I am looking at a 2002 in great condition with many upgrades for $3100. What are your thoughts on this model? Any info appreciated.

Bought mine, second hand, in 1964 (Lambretta LI 150) Cost me £50.

The worst thing about it was the headlamp. It was connected to the magneto, so if you slowed down because of bad road conditions, the light was only a glimmer, & it made things worse.
The best thing was the great big, comfortable, "tractor" saddles.

My 2003 GZ250
and (Finally) sold the 50cc Chinese scooter yesterday...That $450 will go a long way toward paying for the few things the GZ needs :)

also had a Lambretta motorscooter in 1967-68.

Bought my 1959 Lambretta LI 150 in 1965 for less than £50 (can't remember the exact price) but I remember that my wages as an apprentice electrician were way less than £10 a week.

Just found a coupla photos. The quality's crap, but - hey - we're talking +/- half a century here!

This is my mum & dad. The photo must have been taken somewhere between 1946 & 1950.

Besides my GZ, I have a 1980 Yamaha XS 650 Special. It is almost ready to go back on the rode, mid June I'd say. Lot's of work bringing it back to life. I'm only allowed two at this time.

Resurrecting an old thread, as times change, so do our bikes.
After a year and a half or so, the GZ was replaced by a 2005 S50, then a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250 came along and was added (a real fun bike to ride), then that one left after a year and was replaced with a pristine 1990 Honda PC 800 to sit alongside the S 50. Maybe looking at a bike like Busyweb has- a Yamaha TW200 to play with. :) :2tup:
What else have you other guys been up to?

I have owned in order of appearance

1977 YZ125 (lots of fun, but had to sell)
1983 CB550SC (Fast little bike, the powerband at 10,000-12,000rpm was ridiculous - sold this one too)
1974 GT380 (two stroke triple - my baby - she needs very little to be finished)
1975 GT250 (wife's bike - she never rides - just needs painted and then finished)
1978 TS185 (bought it for $65 delivered with title - runs great plenty of pep! - would like to get her street worthy)
1977 RM370 (still haven't got this one put together yet - only bike I haven't ridden)
1972 CB500Four Honda Supersport (She was pretty! Original up-swept pipes and all - not quite regretting selling her just yet)
2005 GZ250 (I got to sit on it :D. Previous owner grenaded the top end - still looking for parts just yet)

Saw this thread again. Since last on here I have added the Yamaha TW200, same as Busyweb's, with a few additions on it. Nice dualsport, like a Jeep. I'll get picks of these up here one of these days so you can see what they look like.
