View Full Version : Iowa Newbie
Hello All!
My name is Jeremy "Jer" for short.
I'm 35. Just got a 2002 GZ250.
Why? Some fun and commuting in these days of $4.00/gal.
For the most part its my first motorcycle. I had a Honda CBR900 very briefly when I was 29. It scared the hell out of me. Friends talked me into buying it.
250cc seems just right!

So was my ex-wife.
Getting my plates tonight. Whooooo hooo!!!!!
Got the helmet, gloves, & boots.
Still shopping for a jacket.
For now its just practicing for the riding test out in front of the house. I borrowed my 4yr old daughters sidewalk chalk and have stepped off and marked the necessary lines to simulate the tests I'll have to take. I love this bike. I can do u-turns in the street just fine. Easy to stop on a dime. Easy to do the cone weave, etc..... The test should be no prob at all. Just gotta find the time to do it. Until then it sits in the garage.
WHOOO HOOO!
Passes my test this morning. Hit one cone with the back wheel doing the swerve.

Good goin'! Ride safe!
Tomorrow will be my 4th commute to work.
And my 2nd trip to the pump.
I'm having a ball.
I dont even need coffee to wake up any more. These 40-45 degree rides are just enough to wake me up.
Thanks for being here gz250bike.com you've made this transition very comfortable.

Congrats
Thanks.
I'm looking forward to my first night ride. I was hoping tonight since the rain finally stopped. But I'm beat from helping a buddy move.
Maybe tomorrow night.
Gonna go ride in the morning though. May head up to Saylorville Lake. Nearby. Should be good for some nice pics.
FYI - I'm moving this weekend and going on a concert trip to Atlanta so I'll likely not be around this site til Monday the 29th or so.
Just didnt want you to think I bailed on ya without saying bye.

Aaaaaand we're back!
High of 71 today.
Looks like winter has turned tail and ran.
I started the bike up a bit today and let it run for a bit. Did a lap or two around the block. Man, slow going in the sandy corners.....
Time to dust off the riding gear and get back on 2 wheels!!!!!
