3 days of rain means no riding....I'm sad
But at least it's cooler! And by cooler I mean 90's....LOL

Or, you could just ride in the rain. This time of year I pray for rain as I'm riding. Same temperature up here, heat index was about 110 around 2 this afternoon. Now that it's rained some things are down to the mid 90's......though that just means MORE humidity.....I'm confused, can you get more humid than 100% ?!?!?! :??:

I don't think you can get more than 100% hmidity, but it sure feels like it some days!

The heat index here is about 105 degrees. The temp. is actually 95 degrees w/ 98% humidity and it's been raining every day all day for the last week. It's so damn steamy you can hardly breathe. I'm jonesing for a ride. I've been in the cage more this last week than I have been in a year. I hope we get back to our normal afternoon thunder showers that usually begin about 3:00 pm. At least then you can get some riding in.
Bitch, bitch, bitch.

Hey Sarris, I hear ya on that, the humidity is what makes it so unbearable........oh wait I forgot, my truck doesn't have AC  .......it's the bike for me when possible.
Who else is praying for a long winter? I swear I need to move to Maine or Montana (or insert other cold-weather prone state) or something and just ride a DP all year......ah, now that's a nice idea.

I've been the same way. It hasn't been raining here as much as it has been > 105° for the past 2 weeks. It doesn't look like it's going to let up either. We got just enough rain the past two days to make it VERY steamy outside, and almost unbearable.
I can't wait for Fall.

100 or more here every day. 108+ index. Tried to rain today but went around where I am. Just made it steamy. Attempted a ride in the evening but the bugs were so bad I had to retreat. Hit one large dragon fly that left a bruise over my Wyvern Tat!

Please send some of that rain this way. My normally white Jack Russels are now gray with all the dust they stir up. Oh how I wish that it would rain. Rain down on me.

It rained pretty hard here yesterday for about 15 or twenty minutes then quit and then we got our complimentary steam bath. It has been so dry here half of my grass is dead, when you walk on it it sounds like its frozen, (crunch, crunch). There is a burn ban here because its so dry, but yet the humidity is so high that you suffocate outside.

I don't understand. What is this stuff you guys are talking about. How to you say it? R A I N. What the heck is that? I think I remember what this is but it has been well over a month at my house since I have seen this stuff. I just keep matches away from my lawn.

I don't really mind it (rain) too much myself, I ride and have rode in the rain several times, and except for when I get rained on unexpectedly without any rain gear on and get soaked I am fine with it. (and also the one time when I actually got hailed on) that was really UNCOOL!
Gets your bike all nasty though. :cuss:

I learned very quickly (1/2 a mile or so) that a good pair of solid leather "riding" boots is a must. No matter how good a set of rain pants you have, if you don't have boots that make it up inside those pants all of the rain that runs OFF those pants is going to end up right in your shoe/hiking boot/whatever. Mean ol' Mr. Gravity strikes again!!!

When I got my bike it was around 40 to 50 degrees every day and seemed to rain at least every other day. I was so anxious for warm weather. It is pretty hot here in Indiana and it's humid all summer long. I still prefer this over the cold days. I had one mile on my bike when I bought it in April, I now have over 4000 miles and still climbing. Rain or shine I ride every day.

I've only been riding for a couple of months now. Here in central Florida that means heat, humidity and (thank you Fay  ) rain. It's been raining so much here my lawn needs to be mowed about every other day. But it sure is green :)!
I'm excited about getting to ride in the fall and winter!
Winter?
Who are you kidding? You don't have winter in Florida.
Come on up to Iowa in January.
I'll show you what winter is all about...... :)

We have winter. Every couple of years it drops below 32F during a night or two.
And the roads are an instant mess as everyone forgets how to drive in the "cold".

Ha! No, but they forget every time it rains.... which is just about every day, all summer long. (I've always wondered why we're called the sunshine state)

We had 4 days !! Fay decided not to leave as expected and just kept pouring the rain down. Luckily, bike was in the shop for new tires (and still there for new brake pads). Hopefully I'll get her this weekend, funny how you miss something when it's gone !! Here's a little visual on how we fared. I put the before pic in for reference. I can't see the road !! They said 26", but another 48 hours and it would have been in the house !!
Brace yourself Mother of Rosco !!

WOW! Scary huh? Hurricanes dont scare me...but tornadoes from the hurricanes do!!!! However, they're predicting Gustav to be a strong 4-5 upon landing....who knows! We fell between Rita and Katrina....might be our time next.
Yeah.... Tornados.....
I wonder if my GZ250 can outrun a tornado here in Iowa?

The GZ probably can't outrun a PIG. Should be easy enough for you to test !!! :)
As soon as I find my way out of this cornfield I'll give that a shot!
