I am looking for a windshield. Most ask for 7/8-1 in. handlebars. What part of the handle bar are they talking about?

If you buy a handlebar mounted windshield, you'll need one for a 7/8" handlebar. The mounts usually connect via a clamp to the vertical part of the bar or the lower horizontal part.

It's the diameter; pick any part, should be the same 7/8 all the way across.

If you get a "universal" mount, it will come with 1" clamps and inserts to cut it down to 7/8.

I measured my handle bars they are more than than an inch around.
That's why I ask. I put a bid on a National cycle plexistar 2.I am hoping
to win and slap that sucker on my bike...I would like some suggestions
in case I don't win. Thank you guys for the input.

Are you confusing circumference with diameter?

Diameter is the distance ACROSS, not around.
I gave a recommendation for the shield I have in another message just a couple of days ago.
If you didn't see it, please look around a bit.

Are you the one that outbid me on that?? :)

I hope you got it. I, too, have been trying to figure out which of the 3million or so windshields available to put on my bike. The thread that I link to in my last post has a weblink to a site that has a fair selection of shields, as well as many other things, for our bikes. I have also been looking at http://www.powersportsuperstore.com. They have a huge selection

No, I don't think I am the one that outbid you. I lost too. I was very disappointed.

AND............ :??:

How did the installation go? Looks like it's mounted about the same as mine.....from that angle, at least.
How do you like it on the road?

We could have twins.........except I chickened out on the tint.
I was afraid I might have to mount it in such a way so the tint would block the speedo.
Turns out that's not the case.

P.S. You can change your tag-line now !! :)

The installation went smooth. I assisted a male friend who put it on for me. It didn't take long.
It would be easier if they put a diagram or just a picture of it on another bike. It probably would
have taken me a long time to do it if I had to do it myself.
