Couldn't find it so I am going to ask it. What is considered the "official" break-in as far as mileage goes. I have always thought 1,000 miles. I am currently at 833. Opinions? :2tup:

From the Red Manual page 25:
The first 800 km (500 miles) is the most important in the life of your motorcycle. Proper operation during this breaking period will help assure maximum life and performance from your new motorcycle. The following guidelines explain proper break-in procedures.
Maximum Throttle Operation:
Initial 800 km (500 miles): Below 1/2 throttle
Up to 1600 km (1000 miles): Below 3/4 throttle
Vary the Engine Speed:
Vary the engine speed during the break-in period. This allows parts to "load" (aiding the mating process) and the "unload" (allowing the parts to cool). Although it is essential to place some stress on the engine components during break-in, you must be careful not to load the engine too much.

Just took mine into the dealer at 691 miles. They called it "600 mile service". Don't know if that is standard or just my dealer. Cost $130 and they said bring it back in at 4,000 miles.

That's standard. You REALLY should at least glance at your owner's manual. ;)
